CCAA will be presenting a “NEW” live online Virtual Workshop for Safety Management Systems Investigations
Date: 2 Half Days on April 30th & May 2nd, 2024 from 9:00am to 1:00pm (MST).
CCAA has developed a new Safety Investigations workshop to introduce you to the fundamentals of investigating in an SMS environment and is designed to help SMS and Safety personnel conduct basic investigations. Having a good SMS doesn’t simply mean telling people to be safe, it’s a structured approach to finding and managing hazards! In order to do that you need to investigate both hazards and incidents.
Course content:
Day 1 – 4 hours
- Investigation fundamentals
- Investigating Hazards vs Occurrences
- Rules and Regulations pertaining to investigations
- Accident Causation
Day 2 – 4 hours
- Investigation tools and techniques including:
- SHELL Model exercise and case study
- Conducting interviews
- Photographing evidence
- Analyzing evidence
- Report Writing
