Follow-up to the Human Resource Study of Commercial Pilots in Canada

The purpose of this report is to contribute to the formulation of the "Next Steps" to the 2001 Human Resource Study of Commercial Pilots in Canada.

Industry views were obtained from four focus group sessions and resulted in a number of recommendations and measures to improve the performance and safety of the industry. The two main goals should be considered:

Industry-wide standards for pilot competency defining the knowledge, skills attitudes (KSAs) required by pilots to do their job: and Quality assurance programs with respect to pilot training.
